Wyoming

Doug and I always shared a dream of living in the middle of no where. Most people do not understand that. But it is very logical to us. When we drove half way across country and skied in 5 different states for our honeymoon, we recognized how at peace we both felt. Some might consider being in the middle of Wyoming with the closest town 2.5 hours away to be a little creepy. We felt the opposite, we felt at home. So an idea was born on our honeymoon. Someday, not sure when or where but we would buy a home in the mountains, with a forest in our backyard and back country skiing anytime we want. The winter of 2012 we took our annual ski trip to Utah and drove through Idaho to Jackson Wyoming for a quick 3 day adventure. We fell in love with the place all over again. So we decided to start working on this dream. Doug and his Father went out in October 2012 to house hunt, we discovered that Alpine Wyoming was the town we would eventually buy a home in. We casually told my Dad about this idea and he wanted in. He is all about riding his motorcycle in remote places. Tomorrow Doug flies out to California to meet my Dad and they are driving to Alpine! Everyday it seems like this little dream is becoming more and more of a reality! Not only will we use this home as a vacation escape, we may eventually move out there for good and live the small town life. The life of snowmobiling into town when they get 2 feet of snow, back country skiing, camping, hiking, fishing, ATVing and more. It may not work out, we may not even like it but it is worth a shot if you ask me!
Update: We are under contract!!! Settlement is end of July. Video coming soon! Update: As of 7.31.13 We are official home owners in the great state of Wyoming!
