Blast from my past

My days of college are long over but I wish I had been more confident with my art work when I was in school. I used to dread having to show the whole class my creations for constructive criticism. I didn't mind the criticism, it helped me but it was talking in front of 30 people that got to me. Plus having to have an opening statement that summarizes the art piece. I always had a problem with that, I feel like the way you view art is a reflection of the person you are. By having a statement you are pushing people to view it as you want them to, not giving them a chance to form their own translation. I think it is fun to let people come up their own thoughts because they may have a different way to view a piece of art that opens the flood gates. It is an inspiration to hear how someone views what you create, they may have an idea or thought that you never even knew you put into their heads because of the work you have done. So now that I am older more confident and not as shy, I will take any criticism I can get! So please don't be shy.
